2024 Carmen Alum Award
At Carmen Southeast, as with all Carmen schools, we believe in continuing Carmen values through graduation, careers, and throughout our lives. Each year we recognize a Carmen alum who exemplifies Carmen’s mission with our Alum Award.
Carmen Southeast is proud to share that the 2024 Carmen Alum Award was presented to SEHS educator, Di Shaun Walker!
Walker is a Carmen South High alum and starting his second year as an educator here at Southeast. He has positively impacted school culture by acknowledging the gaps in education on Milwaukee’s southside and going the extra mile for our students. Walker also leads the Black Student Union, activating young Carmen leaders in the areas of social justice to create a more equitable Milwaukee and community. We are #CarmenProud of SEHS educator, Di Shaun Walker.
Student Leadership Cultivation
We encourage students and families to actively participate and support student leaders on campus. Through a variety of clubs and electives, our students can engage with peers and organizations to drive meaningful change, fulfill community service requirements, and explore creative outlets.
Notable SEHS clubs includes:
- Student Council
- National Honors Society
- Hermanos Mayores
- Advanced Drawing and Painting
- Band (Concert & Mariachi)
- Athletics (some sports categories co-op with Pulaski Rams)
