While general operations are covered by state funding Carmen needs the support of individuals, corporations and foundations to invest in the future of Milwaukee by funding special programs, projects and initiatives that enhance student experiences both in and outside of the classroom.

Elementary Program

Set our youngest students up for success by supporting the learning and instruction of our K4-5th grade students. Stellar Elementary’s innovative program model provides three teachers across two classrooms, offers small group instruction and includes special education teachers uniquely trained to support students with special needs. A full day K4 program that is cost-free to families also exemplifies Stellar’s commitment to positive student outcomes.

Most Carmen graduates will be the first in their families to attend college. Your donation provides the added support students and parents need to make critical decisions about their college choices. Your gift will support experiences like these:

College Day Assembly

Career Programs

Designating a gift to Carmen’s Student Internship Program and STEM Apprenticeship Program will provide our high school students with real work experience, while also giving them the opportunity to earn money towards college. Invest in fueling the workforce pipeline of the future.

Carmen is seeking visionary individuals, corporations, and foundations who want to invest in the Carmen Alverno Partnership for Progress, expand educational opportunities for Milwaukee families, create viable career pathways to family sustaining employment, and establish a replicable national model for educational excellence and economic development.

How will my donation be used?

You choose the impact you would like your gift to have. Designate your gift to our Elementary Program, College Readiness initiatives, Career Programs, or Carmen’s Emergency Relief Fund. You can also make an unrestricted gift by selecting “area of greatest need” in the menu of our secure online donations page or adding a note when you mail in a check.

Does Carmen perform annual audits?

Yes. Carmen undergoes an independent audit each year. You can find detailed financial information in our Annual Report.

Is my donation tax-deductible?

Carmen Schools of Science and Technology is a non-profit organization exempt from federal income taxation under IRC 501(c)(3). Donations are tax-deductible.

Does Carmen issue tax receipts?

Yes, you will receive a charitable tax receipt for income tax purposes by mail. For online gifts an automated receipt will be generated when you make your donation.

I don't have much money. Can I still help?

Yes! There is no gift too small or too large. Together we are changing the trajectory of education in Milwaukee and every dollar makes a difference.

Does Carmen, rent or trade donor information to other agencies?

No! Carmen values your support, and we are committed to protecting your privacy. We will not cede or sell your data for commercial use, or for any use that is not directly linked to our activities or to the use for which you have entered the data.

Can I dedicate my donation to someone?

Yes. Tribute gifts are given in memory of someone who has passed away, or in honor of someone who is living. A card of sincere appreciation will be sent to the honoree or family announcing your gift. We will respect your privacy by not disclosing the amount of your gift.

Can I make a donation on the phone if I don't want to donate online?

Yes, but we do urge you to take advantage of the convenience and security of giving online. You may call or Director of Development at 414-386-3164 if you would like to donate by credit card via phone.

Can I make a donation by check?

You may submit a donation to Carmen Schools of Science and Technology via electronic check on the online donation page.
