SHS, an award-winning school, has once again been ranked as top in the state of Wisconsin and #3 in Milwaukee School District High Schools. Students will have a comprehensive, engaged experience at Carmen High School South:
- Exploration of college interests and preparation such as writing college essays in Advisory
- Math and English Language Arts priority in curriculum
- Advanced Placement Course access in Art, Biology, Spanish Language, US Government, and more
- Preparation for ACT testing
- Applying for colleges/universities and scholarships
- 80 hours of required community service throughout high school

Did you know? Carmen High School of Science & Technology – South and Southeast will be unifying into one brand-new, state-of-the-art campus opening in Fall 2026. Our new campus will continue to provide strong academics, while offering new modern spaces to support our students including a STEM lab, College & Career Center, and a large gym.

Class of 2025 earned over $6.9 million in scholarships to pursue higher education!
Carmen South High Cesar Chavez Award
Each Senior Signing Day, a senior is selected for showcasing the best of Carmen and honored for exemplifying the school’s namesake. Class of 2024 graduate, Teresa Padilla was granted the Carmen South High Cesar Chavez award. Padilla, will be attending Marquette University in the fall with a full-ride as the recipient of the Urban Scholars Scholarship.
