Greetings alum, can you believe that August is just around the corner!? I don’t know about you, but this summer has flown by, so I hope all of you have had time to have fun, enjoy time with family and friends, and refresh yourself for another school year.

Mrs. Kurter and myself are excited for another school year with all of you and we have a lot to share with you this update.

Welcome to the Carmen Alumni Family Class of 2019! Also if you recently graduated or completed a program we want to recognize your accomplishments so please let us know!

That’s right, Dr. Hoben as accepted a new interim CEO position at the newly formed City Forward Collective which is an education advocacy program so she will continue to fight for and serve the students of Milwaukee and Wisconsin. We are sad to see her leave, but we are also very excited to welcome our new CEO Mrs. Jennifer Lopez!


Did you hear? We have a new Alumni Portal! Welcome to CarmenConnect, the platform we now use to track your academic progress, log our communications, a secure way for us to share information like FAFSA logins, Award letters, etc.

Already have your account set up? Login and see if there is any outstanding tasks for surveys you still need to complete.

To get started you’ll need to do the follow:

  • Click the CarmenConnect button below
  • Click register if you have never set up an account
  • Enter your email (If the July update was emailed to you use that email to get started)
  • Click on the “reset password” link in your email and create your password
  • Complete the profile registration
    • Need help with your bio and reason for your post high school plan? Use this helpful cheat sheet to get started

If you do not have a confirmation email saying you completed a FERPA waiver, it means we are still missing one for you. This form allows us to communicate to a college on your behalf and they will not answer any of our questions without it.

Considering transferring or need help registering for classes? Sign up for Office Hours to get help from us.

Setting up meetings with us. Office Hours are a good thing!

If you have not yet set up a time to meet with one of us using our online platform please do so. While we love to see you and have you visit, Carmen has grown too big to have random walk-ins (if you need something). If you do not set up a time to meet, we cannot promise that we will be able to see you if you stop in.

When signing up for a meeting time take a look at the options listed for you and pick what fits best:

  • Office Hours: These are general meetings held at a Carmen Campus (most common)
  • Office Hours – On Campus: These are meetings where YOU pick the location, but NOT at a Carmen campus. We can meet at your school, a coffee shop, or any other public venue (with wifi encouraged)
  • Financial Meetings: Need to file your FAFSA renewal? Have verification paperwork you need to turn in or work on? Or do you just have a general question about your financial aid? This is the option you will choose from
  • Weekend Office Hours: This option is posted at the availability of each PTC. This is normally at a location and timing of their choosing on a Saturday

FINAL NOTE: If you are coming to a Carmen campus you MUST sign-in at the Main Office.

Do you have AP scores you need transferred to your college? Did you take a dual enrollment course in Math or English or something else and would like to send those grades to your school? Please email us: Mrs. Kurter (NW) or Mr. Carter (South)
