This week, we featured two students representing their schools for the first time in our weekly poll. Keep reading to meet our winner, plus how to how to nominate a student for our weekly poll.
Kevin Fields, grade 10, Carmen Middle / High School of Science and Technology
Kevin Fields, a sophomore at the northwest campus of Carmen Middle/High School of Science and Technology, narrowly won this week’s Wisconsin Student of the Week poll.
Fields was nominated by Dejah Russell-Banister, a career readiness coordinator at his school. Russell-Banister praised Fields’ initiative in getting ready for higher education two years before graduation.
Not only does he have a 4.0 GPA, Russell-Banister said, he’s “independently” applied for pre-college programs and spent time polishing his resume and getting recommendations from his teachers.
“This student has taken appropriate measures to secure his success,” she added.
