Aaron Lippman Named CEO of Carmen Schools

Dear Carmen Family,

On behalf of the Carmen Schools of Science and Technology Board of Directors, we are writing with a final update on our CEO search. We’re thrilled and honored to announce that Aaron Lippman will be joining us as Carmen Schools’ new CEO, effective July 1, 2024. Aaron was selected through a national search process involving more than 200 applicants.

For many of us at Carmen Schools, Aaron Lippman is a familiar face. He first joined Carmen Schools in 2013 as principal of Carmen High School of Science and Technology, South, then became the founding principal of Carmen High School of Science and Technology, Southeast in 2016. For the past seven years he has served as Head of School at Milwaukee Jewish Day School, where he oversaw all aspects of the school’s operation from budget and fundraising, to curriculum and instruction, to recruitment and retention.

Aaron is a transformative leader with the experience and vision to lead us into our next chapter. The passion Aaron brings to Carmen Schools, and to urban education as a whole, can’t be understated. Having led two Carmen schools, he has built strong relationships with our students and families. He has a track record of creating and leading skilled, cohesive teams across multiple school settings. Aaron has also embraced Milwaukee as his home, serving as a leader in our city’s communities for over a decade. He is part of Carmen’s DNA, and Carmen is part of his.

The Carmen Schools Board would like to extend our deepest gratitude to Beth Mesrobian for serving as interim CEO. Beth has skillfully led our network leadership team, kept major projects on track, and ensured that our work continued to run smoothly across all five Carmen Schools campuses. She will continue in this role through the spring, when she will return to her role as Chief College Officer. We would also like to thank the staff members, students, and parents who gave their time and input during the CEO search process.

We will be making this transition at a time when Carmen Schools has a great deal of positive momentum. Educators across our five campuses are creating school environments where students feel a sense of belonging and are being challenged to reach their full potential. And our network team is providing our schools with the support and tools they need to best serve students every day.

Aaron will be visiting our campuses in the coming weeks to meet and talk with our community prior to his start date on July 1. Please join us in welcoming him back to the Carmen Schools family, to both maintain our tradition of excellence and lead us to new heights.

De parte de la Mesa Directiva de Carmen Schools of Science and Technology, estamos orgullosos de anunciar el nuevo Director Ejecutivo (CEO), Aaron Lippman, después de una larga búsqueda nacional en donde tuvimos más de 200 solicitantes. A partir del 1 de julio del 2024, Aaron se unirá a la familia de Carmen Schools.

Para muchos de nosotros en Carmen Schools, Aaron Lippman es alguien familiar. Se unió a Carmen Schools por primera vez en 2013 como el director de Carmen High School of Science and Technology, South, luego en 2016 se convirtió en el director fundador de Carmen High School of Science and Technology, Southeast. Beth ha liderado hábilmente nuestro equipo de liderazgo, ha mantenido en marcha proyectos importantes y se ha asegurado de que las cinco escuelas de Carmen Schools sigan funcionando sin problemas.
