Alum, if you received a letter in the mail from UWM stating it contained “Important Tax Information,” and you are NOT a student at UWM then this was sent to you by mistake. I spoke to the Bursar’s Office at UWM and they informed me that there was a software glitch that sent out 1098T forms to ALL accepted students in the classes of 2017 and 2018.
You DO NOT need to do anything further. If you are enrolled at another school and have already received your 1098T form that institution then you are fine. If you need help with what to do with this form please refer to my earlier updates.
IF SOMETHING IS WRONG, please contact me ASAP so we can try to figure out what is wrong and work to fix it.
